About JDRF

The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s (JDRF) mission is ‘to find a cure for type 1 diabetes and its complications through the support of research’.

Over 35 years ago a group of determined volunteers got together and vowed to do whatever it took to find a cure for type 1 diabetes. Today, that passion continues with JDRF Australia representing the over 122,300 people with type 1 diabetes, including thousands of passionate members and supporters who share one single focus - to find a cure, fast.

JDRF is the world's leading non-profit contributor to type 1 diabetes research, investing over $1.3billion into type 1 diabetes research world-wide over the last four decades. In Australia, JDRF are currently funding over 40 research projects, with a total investment of over $60 million.

This investment by JDRF has already significantly improved the lives of people with type 1 diabetes. JDRF funded research has lead to the development of insulin pumps, new types of synthetic insulin and has reduced the impact of diabetes complications such as blindness, kidney disease and heart disease.

With your help we will continue to fund world-leading research. Every dollar raised from the Ride to Cure Diabetes will bring us closer to a cure.
