Riding 1000km's to change lives

My Activity Tracking

My target 1000 kms

I'm fundraising for a great cause!

I’m doing the JDRF One Ride to raise funds for type 1 diabetes! This means I will be riding from 29th Aug to 20th September alongside the world’s biggest cycling event in France. While I am challenging myself and competing against other cyclists, I am also raising funds to support research to cure, prevent and better treat type 1 diabetes.

Type 1 diabetes can strike anyone at any time, and 7 Australians are diagnosed every day. Diagnosis means a 24/7 fight with no break and facing an extra 180 decisions a day to remain safe and healthy. JDRF is the largest funder of type 1 diabetes research in the world.

DONATE NOW to help change the lives of more than 120,000 Australians living with T1D. Thank you!

Pushing out the kilometres to (hopefully) top the list for week 2

Sunday 13th Sep
It has been a big week of riding so far--550km till Saturday, with another 100-150km on Sunday (how far is still to be determined 😉). Should be a shoo-in for most kilometres in from participants in Melbourne’s lockdown 💪💪💪

Donations have started to come in this week too--huge thanks to Lynton, Alison and Janette 😍

Super stoked to have my Hells500 delivery arrive just at the end of my 100km ride this morning--a great personal gift. Hoping some more donations come in to help JDRF and those with T1D  😊

Getting the rides in while in Melbourne's iso 2

Wednesday 9th Sep
It has been tough to put the kilometres in when limited to 1 h of outdoor exercise per day thanks to Melbourne's second lockdown. Thankfully there's Zwift, which has enabled me to knock off 750km so far - crisis presents with opportunity, right?

I have been participating in JDRF One Rides/Ride to Cure since 2010 with my partner Sarah, who has T1D. In past JDRF Rides we have stuck together as a team, but our apartment doesn't have space for two trainer bikes (barely room for one!) so now we have to ride alone, but you can help out with motivation - donate to our fundraising for JDRF 😊

Thank you to my Sponsors
