Hi my name is Peter.

I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at age 9. Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease, so I had no way of preventing it. Having type 1 diabetes involves making so many decisions every day about food, exercise and medications, It can be a bit overwhelming.

My dad and I are keen cyclists, and this ride is a perfect opportunity to get involved in fundraising for JDRF. I hope the research supported by JDRF will help to prevent type 1 diabetes and find a cure.
